Director of Business Development

Overview

As the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for developing new partnerships from prospecting to deal making, building new relationships, defining client value and financial impact, expanding partnership scope, leading commercial execution and delivering results. You will also help refine processes, run demand generation programs, and help build out our growth strategy. Reporting to the Head of Sales & Business Development, this is the right role for an entrepreneurial, strategic thinker who likes to lead from the front lines, get their hands dirty and build from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a pipeline of strategic partnerships in our target verticals, negotiate complex commercial terms and secure target partners
  • Build close-knit, deep relationships with our enterprise partners to develop business plans and execute on strategies that accelerate growth
  • Collaborate with partners to develop programs, campaigns, joint-marketing and  other demand generation actiivities
  • Demonstrate Cloverlys’ solution, identify opportunities to expand offerings, assess market needs and build shared roadmaps
  • Share market feedback from partners and end customers to Cloverly internal stakeholders and leadership, informing our roadmap
  • Execute on our partner enablement program; sharing Cloverly expertise & enabling partners to effectively bring climate solutions to market
  • Work with Cloverly leadership to continually refine our partner engagement program & identify new revenue opportunities
  • Collaborate with sales & marketing to ensure success of partner-sourced deals
  • Own and manage tracking and analysis of partner pipeline activity including engagement and conversion KPIs to optimize performance and inform planning

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5-10 years of operational experience in building a business development function in a fast growing B2B startup - leading complex programs from start to finish
  • A sense of adventure, willingness to get your hands dirty, and create the tools necessary to help partners execute on their business goals
  • A demonstrable track record of securing & managing large accounts, negotiating complex deal terms, and following an enterprise GTM motion
  • Strong problem solving skills with outstanding relationship management & leadership skills

Head of Marketing

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the CEO, this person will be Cloverly’s hands-on leader to initially build and optimize the Marketing function. This person will roll their sleeves up while having support from an agency budget and/or small team. There is room for this to grow into a much larger role.
  • This person’s main goal is to generate revenue --- primarily through acquiring new customers, secondarily through expanding existing customers
  • Focus on enterprise and midmarket customers
  • This person will have exceptional skills in most of the following areas while outsourcing or delegating the other areas as needed:
    • Demand generation
    • Building and nurturing a robust target list
    • Account-based marketing, email, SEO, PR, digital ads, social, etc.
    • Sales enablement: messaging, collateral, tools, Hubspot, etc
    • Optimize customer acquisition scale and profitability
    • Learn the market, provide critical insights to the team, and substantively shape company strategy

Business Development, Marketplace Partnerships

Responsibilities

This person will help build the best marketplace in the world for high quality carbon removals and offsets. Responsibilities include:

  • Build a best-in-class ecosystem of marketplace partners across technology-based, nature-based, and clean power-based solutions
    • Understand the landscape of these solutions and have your pulse on the market
    • Refine partner vetting criteria
    • Source, vet, and sign new partners
    • Form and negotiate creative, optimized partnership terms and structures
    • Onboard, lead, and manage partner relationships
  • Generate and support demand for your partners
    • Be the in-house expert in your partners’ domain (e.g., nature-based solutions)
    • Partner with the Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to educate and pitch customers on these solutions
  • Collaborate with Director of Sustainability across these efforts
  • Work closely with CEO, sales, marketing, customer success, and product
  • Build and evolve scalable supply-side processes
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels in coordination with demand-side development
  • Play a crucial role in shaping the company’s strategy

Sr. Back-End Engineer

Cloverly is looking for an experienced back-end engineer with deep Python familiarity to join our engineering team and help us help organizations go carbon neutral or carbon negative. In this role, you will be responsible for writing and testing scalable code, developing back-end components, and integrating user-facing elements. While the primary emphasis is on Python and our back-end stack, you should be familiar and comfortable in a full-stack environment.

To be successful as a developer, you should possess in-depth knowledge of object-relational mapping, experience with server-side logic, and strong grasp of Python programming.

Responsibilities

  • Writing scalable code in Python
  • Developing back-end components
  • Integrating user-facing elements using server-side logic
  • Assessing and prioritizing client feature requests
  • Establishing API contracts with front-end developers and coordinating on new feature development

Front-End Engineer

Cloverly is looking for a great front-end developer who is proficient with React.js. Your primary focus will be on developing user interface components and implementing them following well-known React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux). You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.

  • Developing new user-facing features using React.js

    Skills
